“One important key to success is self-confidence. An important key to self-confidence is preparation.” Arthur Ashe
How do you prepare for a game or practice? When I ask my clients this question many of them have difficulty coming up with an answer. Establishing a consistent pre-game/pre-practice routine is important to improving your overall performance in competition. It is also essential in helping the athlete feel prepared and, as a result, feel more confident. Establishing a successful routine may include things such as eating/sleep habits, visualization/relaxation exercises, arrival time, and warm up activities. Take some time to identify and write down the things that you can do 30 minutes to 1 hour before your next game or practice. Make these things part of your pre-game/pre-practice routine and make sure you stay consistent!
