Michael Scarff, LPC

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who, for more than a decade has counseled teens, and adults who are experiencing life transitions, suicidal ideation/attempts, addiction and behavioral problems. I help clients by focusing not only on the individual, but also on the family dynamics that influence their well-being. We all have patterns that have been learned, some of which are harmful to ourselves and our relationships. Those patterns fulfill a perceived need and it is our journey to understand the roots of unhealthy patterns and learn new ways of more beneficial fulfillment and communication.

I believe in an eclectic counseling approach because we all have different needs . I specialize in treating behavioral disorders (ADHD/ODD), substance abuse disorders and anxiety disorders.

I have experience working in many areas as a supervisor, clinical therapist and crisis intervention specialist interacting with children and families throughout the Pittsburgh region.
